Sourced from a high vineyard sight with close proximity to the Pacific Ocean overlooking the Casablanca Valley, the 2015 Casas del Bosque Gran Reserva Syrah is a beautiful expression of a cool climate Syrah. The nose offers notes of light white pepper, some olive brininess and a meaty spice tone over blackberry fruit. Medium fuller bodied and sleekly textured, this shows good energy and vibrancy in the mouth to the black berry fruit flavors, while the tannins are fine tuned leading to a dry finish with some of the savory, meaty tones coming through on the backend. Just now starting to open up, if you drink now, decant or let breathe before consuming. Otherwise give this another year and enjoy over the next couple of years after that .
